Frederick Bain

Originally hailing from Christchurch in New Zealand, Frederick has been tattooing since 2006 and based in Melbourne since 2011. Well-versed in most styles, he is best known for realistic colour reproduction of birds animals and flowers, but loves a side quest into Japanese and neo-traditional styles.

Outside of tattooing he is kept busy by an uncomfortable surplus of hobbies, including wildlife photography, running, mountain biking, land navigation sports, singing, guitar, and oil painting.

Our story

Founders Ben Thomas and Ben Smith had a vision. With a combined total of almost 20 years in the tattoo industry and having worked at many other studios all over the world, they knew they wanted to create something unique. To go against the grain of the traditional back alley, dimly lit tattoo studios to create a private, high end gallery.
